In the role of Marketing & Communications Content Writer, this Team Member will leverage keen interviewing skills, researching tenacity, and exceptional writing capabilities to create various content styles for several audience types. The beauty of this position is that every day will look different – this Team Member will learn at an accelerated rate through reading, researching, and talking with industry subject matters to support and be part of’s growth. This position will require the Team Member to think creatively about how to stretch one piece of content into different formats. Creativity and practicality come together in this role to transform/stretch content across several mediums to include blog post, social media, articles, etc. Other general business areas this Team Member will be leveraged include industry awards submission, speaking abstract writing and submission, collateral, sales cycle support through redlining/editing of client-facing materials, and other ad-hoc writing requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Creating concise, eye-catching, and innovative headlines and body copy

  • Ability to write content for various mediums and purposes, including thought leadership, podcast scripts, business proposal content, long and short format papers, collateral content

  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn industry concepts and develop content for multiple audience types

  • Collaborating with company business units and subject matter experts to produce content for website, industry publications, and digital platforms

  • Writing about a wide variety of topics for multiple platforms (website, blogs, articles, social updates, banners, case studies, white papers, etc.)

  • Researching and organizing facts and sources

  • Ensuring technical information is accurate and correctly written, as it applies to oilfield operations, equipment, and services

  • Interviewing sources, including technical subject matter experts and internal thought leaders

  • Consistently brainstorming and collaborating with the team for new ideas and strategies to effectively position NOV technologies, solutions, and experts within the industry

  • Partnering with the social media team to continue to build a following for the NOV brand on social media with creative work

  • Researching markets and industries to compare and create content that is innovative, engaging, and original

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field

  • Understanding/background in healthcare industry preferred

  • Experience with proposal / formal business content preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent grasp of the English language

  • Excellent interviewing, researching, and notetaking skills

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a professional writing capacity

  • Creative and innovative thinker, planner, and problem solver

  • Confident in producing work across multiple platforms

  • Ability to align multiple brand strategies and ideas

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed

  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (really – we’re quick!)

  • Strict adherence to company voice and style guide

  • Healthcare experience a plus
